Plastic bag! Plastic bag!

Hello,
It appears that study and work gives me little energy for this, but seen as though I am still paying, I figured I should really get some updating done.
Being a greasemonkey is going well, it turns out I am better at it than I expected, but that is another story and seems to annoy some of the other students and staff, but that is life I guess. I also constantly learn more at a work experience deal I set-up for myself. So while everyone else goes home and plays PlayBox I am actually learning more. Like ALWAYS use antifreeze.

The above was caused by the water pump freezing solid, stripping the cam belt and resulting in the pistons clapping the valves, which were knocked into the cam splitting it clean in two. Which made for a fun rebuild.
But with the exception of always being tired, things are going rather well for once. Which is nice.
Take care, ~Jordan |

You are now.

Hello,
Some time has passed since my last update so I felt I should really make one. Given I pay a few bob to keep this webby online. The course is going okay, even if I do get deeply annoyed by the stupidity of a fair few of the people on said course. Although I suspect that should have been expected.
I started a weekend job, which pays rather well and for added fun I also spend my time off working in a garage to keep myself busy and to accelerate my learning. This extra learning, as it happens, is quite possible the most challenging part of the whole college experience.
The most annoying part however has to be "Enrichment". It is a gov't funded "voluntary" optional extra, but as it is gov't funded and the college gets some extra scratch for every student on the course, it is mandatory to take it. Which makes no real sense, but then few things ever do.
I suppose I can't really complain all that much as the enrichment I've been given is rather useful for a grease monkey as it is welding/body work. Unfortunately when the tutor was showing me the correct HC2H/O2 mix for gas welding I got a touch of Arc-Eye, which is bloody uncomfortable.
I suppose really that just adds to the fun, although I am really going to take extra care from now on, as screwing over my eyes will seriously get in the way of my military goals. Plus going blind will generally suck balls.
Finally, in relation to the move in the last update. That is still on the cards, but may be through a loan/re-mortgage rather than a sale (the property isn't shifting as expected, which is unfortunate). But it would be useful as the property up there is rather large so I'd have room to have a nice project vehicle on the go and have a daily drive to commute to college/work and such.
Well that is me for this update, I am sure I've missed a lot of details, but there you go.
Take care, ~Jordan |

So I'm in?

Hello,
It turns out I am getting really lazy, but there we go. College has been going rather well, I may have forgot to mention that I have started college again, but this time it should be a useful qualification. I originally went in for an Army Transporter Engineer course -one year long with an Army bursary- but as I left it rather late to apply it was full, so I went with the standard grease monkey course. Both last one year so once I finish I can sign back up to the Army, although the latter has no funding so I have started a weekend job to line my pockets with. Which is nice.
There is a chance I may be moving up north to Pickering to start up a tearoom, because my life is that extreme. It should be good fun, although that move is dependent on the sale of a property as that will fund the venture. The downside naturally, will be I'll have to save up quite a bit of money to afford me to commute to and from college as I am not a fan of quitting now. Mostly because I get on rather well with the other chaps in the group.
But these things happen and if I have to quit then so be it. To add to the complication though, my PC has gone plop again and I am hesitant to fund parts to try and trouble shoot what may be wrong with it. I am assuming it is my graphics card has finally given up the go, but as I have no spares to test this theory it is going to spend a little longer collecting dust until I finally cave and splash and buy some test parts.
To end on a positive though, shortly before starting college it was my nephews birthday so we took him to Pleasure Island which was a lot of fun (even if the poor lad did get rather scared at times) and while there I took part in a rescue operation to save a young girl from losing a leg -naturally she was only in that situation because she was prating about, but all the same- which was interesting, mostly because rather than helping the girl, her family were too busy taking the piss out of her citing that she was "too fat" to help.
Which made no sense because after some minutes of holding her in place, I then carried her over to a chair after her leg was freed and she was pretty damn light. But who am I to judge?
Which was only made better by another theme park visit, this time to Alton Towers, which was my first visit there. Bloody hell that was a right laugh. I would surmise that those around you make a day, because I have not laughed as much or quite enjoyed a trip to a theme park as I did at Alton Towers. It was considerably good fun.
You can find some photos of the day here and I am of the understanding there are some videos of the day on the tube full of you. Which is nice.
Take care, ~Jordan |

No one accepted my withdrawal.

Hello,
As you may have noticed I have changed the design somewhat, there are still a few bugs but I gave up trying to sort them out on account of me wanting some food in my belly and abject boredom. At some point I will sort them out.
In relation to the job I was doing, somehow I knew it wasn't going to become a permanent feature, for me anyway, after I corrected the bosses spelling, as it turns out he was a very vindictive man, but these things happen and it isn't all that bad as due to my unemployed status, I was able to find a nice year long course at college which is run by the British Army and will teach me all about being a grease money before I can reapply next year. It does mean by the time I finish training I shall be rather old - easily 26 - but it is a safe guaranteed job assuming I stay healthy.
Naturally to try and line my pockets between then and now I have applied for a far few jobs, several of which are part time so I can continue working there when I return to college. Which is nice.
One would assume I'd have more to write by now, but I really cannot be bothered.
Take care, ~Jordan |

I appreciate the words though.

Hello,
It would appear that doing nothing is not helping me mentally, I have noticed over the last few months that I my English skills have started to slide, a condition that has sped up expediently over the last couple of weeks, which is rather concerning. It is mostly just been misplaced characters while typing, but I realised that while playing Hangman with Annie that I couldn't get what ended up being very obvious "S T A R _ A R S A C T I O N _ I G U R E S", I spent some time trying to figure out what that was.
I suspect this could be why a vast majority of long term unemployed appear to be incapable of even the most basic mental tasks. One could say it is all my own fault as I haven't been keeping myself busy enough, but even though, it is still an alarming development.
But enough of my impending retardation, I have news from the job front and it isn't great. I should have had an interview for a techie job on Thursday (04/06/2009) but I received a phone call a few days in hand telling me that they had an Ofsted inspection so cancelled the interview and I shall receive an e-mail informing me when my new interview date is. One hopes it is before I become a stammering mess.
I suppose I would have more to say, but it is still ranting in the same vain as my last update.
Take care, ~Jordan |
